Come Hungry: Why Digital Nomads Will Love Dubrovnik This October

Swap the laptop for a fork and discover another side of Dubrovnik, as two weeks of food, wine and local experiences take over the city this October.
If you’re working remotely from Dubrovnik this October, there’s another very good reason to close the laptop at the end of the day and head out into the city.
Food. And lots of it.
From October 5 to 18, the Good Food Festival 2026 returns to Dubrovnik, bringing two weeks of special menus, local flavours, wine, workshops and culinary experiences.
And October is arguably one of the best times to experience Dubrovnik.
The summer heat has softened, the streets are quieter, the Adriatic is still beautiful and the frantic rhythm of peak season has finally slowed.
Taste Dubrovnik Like a Local
For digital nomads spending a few weeks – or a few months – in the city, the festival is a great opportunity to discover Dubrovnik beyond your co-working space and laptop screen.
Restaurants across the city will offer special festival menus, making it easier to try different restaurants and discover local and Mediterranean cuisine.
But this isn’t simply two weeks of restaurant deals.
Expect guest chef dinners, gastronomic excursions, workshops and special culinary events, combining traditional Dubrovnik flavours with new ideas.
It’s also a great excuse to meet people, explore different parts of the city and experience something that locals themselves look forward to.
Pull Up a Chair
One of the highlights is the Dubrovnik Table – Dubrovačka trpeza – an event that brings locals and visitors together around one long table to eat, talk and celebrate Dubrovnik’s culinary traditions.
And that’s really what food here is all about.
It isn’t just what’s on the plate. It’s conversation, local ingredients, recipes passed through generations and that wonderful Dalmatian ability to turn lunch into an event lasting considerably longer than originally planned.
For digital nomads, that’s part of the experience of actually living in Dubrovnik rather than simply visiting it.
So finish your Zoom call, close the laptop and head out into the city.
Explore. Meet people. Try something new.
And most importantly – come hungry.
