Dubrovnik Winter Festival back and more brilliant than ever

28.11.2022

After two pandemic years, the ninth Dubrovnik Winter Festival has returned in full glory with a rich musical, entertainment, gastronomic and children's program with lots of surprises. The highlight of the festival will be the spectacular New Year's Eve celebrations on the world's most beautiful open stage, with Ante Gelo and his band, and one of the biggest musical stars of the Croatian pop scene, Petar Grašo, who will welcome in the New Year along with a magnificent fireworks display.

The opening of this year's Dubrovnik Winter Festival, along with the lighting of candles, was marked by a concert by the extremely popular group Dalmatino, and during December on the Stradun there will be concerts by Croatian pop stars Doris Dragović, Urban & 4, Neno Belan - Rock Galama, Opća opasnost, Željko Bebek and Massimo, while on the 1st of January a concert will be held by Tomislav Bralić and Klapa Intrade.

The rich gastronomic offer at the festival stands in several city locations is an unavoidable part of the winter festival atmosphere, as well as the traditional Cod Days in Dubrovnik restaurants.

Advent on Vojnović, organised by the Dubrovnik Student Centre, will be enriched with performances by Bosutski Bećar, Matija Cvek, Giuliano and others, and on the beach in Lapad Bay, a specially designed Sunset Advent program will be held.

The ever popular children's programs - North Pole Station in Lazareti, Colourful Winter in the Bay of Lapad with a special festive train and an ice rink, and programs in the city's suburb, Mokošica, form the backbone of programs for the youngest, for whom a number of programs of Dubrovnik's cultural institutions are also intended.

Special exhibitions, Christmas concerts, among which the Dubrovnik Christmas concert on December 23 and the New Year's concert on Stradun on January 1, theatre performances for all generations, the Cake Party and other programs will spice up the days of Advent and anticipation of Christmas and New Year.

With holiday decorations and lighting that emphasise the timeless beauty of the city, relying on rich traditions and numerous diverse programs, the organisers believe that this year's Dubrovnik Winter Festival program will be attractive to both foreign and domestic visitors as well as the residents of Dubrovnik.

More information about all events and the complete program will be published on the website and social networks of the Dubrovnik Winter Festival, as well as on the City of Dubrovnik Events Calendar before the festival begins.
