Free Evening at Dubrovnik Maritime Museum for Night of Fortresses

Visitors to Dubrovnik will have the chance to enjoy a unique cultural experience this Friday as Dubrovnik Museums join the European initiative Night of Fortresses.
On May 8, entry to the Maritime Museum Dubrovnik, located within the historic St. John’s Fortress, will be free of charge from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
As part of the programme, a guided tour led by museum educator Bruno Bijađija will take place at 7:00 PM, offering visitors a deeper insight into Dubrovnik’s rich maritime past.
A Fresh Take on History
The evening will also introduce a new multimedia guide designed to enhance the museum experience. Combining audio storytelling with interactive content, digital displays and elements of augmented reality, the guide offers a more engaging way to explore the city’s long connection with the sea.
By blending traditional exhibits with modern technology, the Maritime Museum is opening its doors to a broader audience, presenting Dubrovnik’s heritage in a way that is both accessible and immersive.
Part of a wider European programme celebrating historic fortifications, the event offers a perfect opportunity to experience one of Dubrovnik’s most atmospheric landmarks in a new light.
