All for One, One for Dubrovnik: Theatre Above the Adriatic

There are few stages as dramatic as Fort Lovrijenac. Rising above the Adriatic, its stone walls have long protected Dubrovnik — and each summer, they transform into one of its most captivating cultural settings.
This season, the Midsummer Scene Festival returns with One for All, a playful and inventive take on The Three Musketeers. But this is no traditional retelling. Seen through an older D’Artagnan and a troupe of eccentric actors, the story unravels and reforms in a lively mix of comedy, action and improvisation.
The performance is dynamic and delightfully unpredictable. Swords share the stage with everyday objects — even a baguette — as the actors turn movement, humour and spontaneity into pure theatrical energy. At times, the audience is drawn into the action, blurring the line between spectator and participant.
Written by Filip Krenus and directed by Sean Aita, the production reflects the festival’s signature style: sharp British wit set against Dubrovnik’s timeless backdrop.
Under open skies and centuries-old stone, this is theatre at its most immediate — playful, immersive and full of life. One for All is more than a performance; it is a celebration of storytelling in one of the world’s most unforgettable settings.
