Discover Dubrovnik’s Museums This Winter: Shorter Hours, Same Inspiration

If you’re a digital nomad spending the cooler months in Dubrovnik, the city’s museums are the perfect way to blend work-life balance with a little cultural immersion. As of November 1, 2025, Dubrovnik’s museums have switched to their winter schedule — meaning fewer crowds, quieter spaces, and the chance to explore the city’s rich history at your own pace.
The Cultural-Historical Museum (Rector’s Palace) and the Maritime Museum (St. John’s Fortress) are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the Rector’s Palace closed on Mondays and the Maritime Museum on Wednesdays. The Ethnographic Museum (Rupe Granary) follows the same hours but closes on Tuesdays, while the Archaeological Exhibitions at Revelin Fortress open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (9 a.m.–4 p.m.) and Friday (10 a.m.–3 p.m.), staying closed on Wednesdays.
Keep in mind that all museums are closed on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and the Feast of St. Blaise (February 3), and they open for shorter hours (9 a.m.–12 p.m.) on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Nomad tip: visiting during winter means you can soak up Dubrovnik’s art and history without the summer rush — and maybe even get that perfect quiet café nearby to catch up on emails afterwards.
