Laptop Down, Forks Up: Dubrovnik’s Good Food Festival Is Back

Laptop Down, Forks Up: Dubrovnik’s Good Food Festival Is Back
15.09.2026

If your idea of networking involves tapas, craft beer and a plate of something you can’t pronounce, October might be the perfect month to be a digital nomad in Dubrovnik.

From October 5 to 18, Dubrovnik is swapping summer crowds for street food, celebrity chefs, free concerts, long lunches, olive-grove picnics and one seriously impressive table stretching through the heart of the Old City.

Welcome to the 13th Good Food Festival — two weeks when your biggest decision might not be which Zoom call to join, but where to eat afterwards.

And yes, your laptop can stay at home.

Work. Eat. Repeat.

The Good Food Festival has grown into one of Dubrovnik’s biggest autumn events, and this year it isn’t staying within the city walls.

Restaurants across Dubrovnik, Župa dubrovačka, Cavtat, Konavle and Dubrovačko primorje are joining the action with the popular Two Weeks of Restaurants, offering special festival menus at tempting prices.

In other words, it’s the perfect excuse to escape your usual neighbourhood, grab a few fellow nomads and turn dinner into a mini road trip.

There will also be festival breakfasts, desserts and one-off dining experiences.

One useful nomad tip: book early. Some of the smaller dinners and workshops have limited spaces, and “I was finishing a deadline” probably won’t get you a table.

Celebrity Chefs Are Coming to Town

The festival is bringing some serious culinary firepower to Dubrovnik.

Croatian chef Ana Ugarković heads to the Musladin rural household in Ljubač for a special Wild Feast, while Mario Mihelj takes over the kitchen at Restaurant Dubrovnik.

Tibor Valinčić will appear at Akademis Čingrija, while acclaimed chef Matija Bogdan serves up the intriguingly named Five Courses to the Top at Marco Polo restaurant on October 13.

And for those whose idea of treating themselves involves considerably more than ordering an extra coffee, Taste the Mediterranean returns to Hotel Excelsior.

Hola, Dubrovnik!

Fancy a quick trip to Spain without leaving Dubrovnik?

In cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, Akademis Čingrija will host an Evening of Spanish Flavours with chefs Carlos Ripoll and Hector Guardia.

And because dinner is always better with a soundtrack, Nina Ćorić & Barraca Club will provide the music.

Another special dinner will bring together Istria and Croatia’s deep south — basically a culinary journey from one end of Croatia to the other without having to open a flight-search app.

Street Food + Free Music = We’re Listening

Now we’re getting into proper after-work territory.

FOODravanje takes over Lazareti from October 5 to 11, and this year the event has expanded to a full seven days.

Expect five food stalls, two food trucks and seven evenings of music.

The line-up includes Željko Bebek, TBF, Giuliano & Diktatori and Zdravko Čolić tribute band Svadbarskim sokakom.

Best of all?

The concerts are free.

So shut the laptop, round up the coworking crew and head towards Lazareti.

And if seven days of street food somehow aren’t enough, Dubrovnik Beer & Bites Fest follows from October 16 to 18, bringing craft beer, food and more live music.

Your October diet never stood a chance.

Take Your Lunch Break Into Nature

Not everything happens in restaurants.

Some of this year’s coolest experiences take you outside the city altogether.

There’s a walk along the historic Napoleonic Road followed by brunch at Trsteno Arboretum, a picnic among the olive trees at Pobrežje, and gastronomic experiences surrounded by the lemon gardens of Župa dubrovačka.

Try putting that in your office calendar as “Lunch Meeting.”

For something more hands-on, the DEŠA association will organise traditional cooking workshops focusing on preserving local recipes and passing Dubrovnik’s culinary knowledge to another generation.

There are also coffee workshops, creative events and even a special gastro edition of the Dub Pub Quiz.

Finally, a chance to prove all those hours spent arguing about useless facts over coffee were actually professional development.

One Very, Very Long Lunch Table

And then comes the grand finale.

On Saturday, October 17, the legendary Dubrovačka trpeza – Dubrovnik Table returns to the Stradun.

Starting at 11:00am, Dubrovnik’s most famous street becomes one enormous open-air dining table filled with dishes from local restaurants, hotels, bakeries, pastry shops and winemakers.

Klapa Kaše supplies the soundtrack, food vouchers cost €8, drinks are €4, and all the money raised goes to charity.

This year the proceeds will support the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Association of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Association of the Blind.

So you get lunch on one of the world’s most famous streets and support two good causes at the same time.

Not a bad Saturday.

Your October Office Has Better Catering

Dubrovnik in October already ticks plenty of digital-nomad boxes: warm autumn days, fewer summer crowds and considerably more breathing room around the city.

Add two weeks of food, street parties, free concerts, craft beer, brunches, workshops, celebrity chefs and outdoor adventures, and suddenly extending your stay by another week starts looking suspiciously sensible.

So charge the laptop.

Finish the deadline.

Close Slack.

And come hungry.

Good Food Festival Dubrovnik runs from October 5 to 18, 2026.
