Ten New Trees to Be Planted Across Dubrovnik in Green Tourism Initiative
30.10.2026

Dubrovnik is getting a green boost as ten new trees are set to be planted across the city as part of Croatia’s nationwide sustainable tourism initiative.

The project, “Croatia Naturally Yours,” is organised by the Croatian National Tourist Board in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board taking part in the environmental campaign.

The first planting will take place on Friday, October 30, at 9:00 am in Pošta Lapad, where an almond tree and a cypress tree will be planted. Further planting will follow at several locations, including the Lapad traffic lights, Jug swimming pool, Buža and Nova Mokošica.

The ten trees will be selected from species suited to the local climate, with Dubrovnik’s municipal gardening company, Vrtlar, responsible for choosing appropriate varieties.

The initiative aims to promote sustainable tourism and environmental awareness, while helping to offset carbon emissions generated by tourists travelling to Croatia by car.

All ten trees will carry the official “Croatia Naturally Yours” sustainability label, highlighting the country’s commitment to greener tourism.
