21.06.2023 – Dubrovnik celebrates World Music Day

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, as it does every year, is organizing a concert to celebrate World Music Day. Under the baton of maestro Ivan Hut, the orchestra will perform a program of popular classics, film music, some Latin music, and jazz.

As part of the concert, trumpeter Džemal Cakić from the DSO will perform as a soloist, and the audience will have the opportunity to hear famous compositions such as “New York, New York,” “Sway,” “Volare,” as well as themes from well-known films like “The Godfather,” “Titanic,” and James Bond. Additionally, the audience will have the chance to hear Željko Barač in Artie Shaw’s Clarinet Concerto. With such a diverse program, everyone is sure to find something they enjoy, so everyone is invited to join on Wednesday, June 21, in front of the Church of St. Blaise at 9 PM for a true musical celebration.

The concert is organized in collaboration with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, and the City of Dubrovnik.
